Shehnaaz Gill has recently shared her perspective on marriage, expressing that she doesn't view it as a necessity in contemporary society. The actress, who debuted as a producer with "Ikk Kudi" on October 31, 2025, a film that explores a girl's journey to find a suitable partner, openly discussed her views on the subject.
In a recent interview with IANS, Shehnaaz stated, "Marriage is not important. If you don't have to do it, it's okay. People get married. It's okay". While she currently doesn't foresee marriage for herself, she remains open to the possibilities of the future, adding, "Even though I feel that I won't get married, I can't say that I will never say never. Maybe, I'll have to do it tomorrow. I have to make the right decision for myself”.
Gill, who rose to prominence after her appearance on "Bigg Boss 19" and her bond with the late Sidharth Shukla, acknowledges the gravity of the decision to marry. "You are giving your entire life to a boy after leaving your parents' house. You are doing everything for him, it's a big decision… It's different. You don't know who will be your partner. You don't know. So, let's see what happens," she explained.
In the past, Shehnaaz has been candid about her evolving views on marriage and life, especially after the passing of Sidharth Shukla in 2021. In February 2023, she mentioned that she had lost interest in the institution of marriage and was single. She emphasized her focus on financial independence, stating, "You never know what happens in life, you should be prepared for everything...if I'm not able to get work, I should have enough savings so I don't have to beg for money in the future. Just for that I shouldn't end up marrying someone". She further added, "Mujhe shaadi vagerah mein believe nahi hai abhi (I don't believe in marriage as of now). I have to get ahead in my life and do a lot of things, and I want to save the money that I earn, I don't want to just waste it".
Shehnaaz has been actively working on her career, making her Bollywood debut in "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan" and hosting her chat show "Desi Vibes with Shehnaaz Gill". She also bought a house for herself, further solidifying her commitment to financial independence.
Gill began her career in 2015 with a music video titled "Shiv Di Kitaab". In 2017, she debuted in the Punjabi film "Sat Shri Akaal England". Her filmography includes "Kala Shah Kala", "Daaka", "Honsla Rakh", and "Thank You for Coming". She has also featured in numerous music videos, such as "Maar Kar Gayi", "Pindaan Diyaan Kudiyaan", "Shona Shona", and "Habit", and has "Sab First Class" in the pipeline.
While Shehnaaz's past comments to Farah Khan in February 2025, stating she didn't want to marry, may reflect her feelings at the time, her recent statements suggest a more open-minded approach to the future. Although marriage may not be a priority, she is not completely ruling it out, emphasizing the importance of making the right decision for herself.
