Director Aditya Sarpotdar Praises Rashmika Mandanna's Dedication on the Set of "Thamma"

Aditya Sarpotdar, the director of the recently released film "Thamma," has lauded actress Rashmika Mandanna for her unwavering commitment and professionalism during the film's production. In an exclusive statement, Sarpotdar revealed that Mandanna consistently worked 12-hour shifts without complaint, showcasing her dedication to the project.

"Thamma," the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, hit theaters on October 21, 2025, coinciding with Diwali. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna in leading roles, alongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal. "Thamma" follows Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana), a journalist, whose life takes a dramatic turn after meeting Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna), a mysterious woman during a mountain trek. Alok transforms into Betaal, a vampire-like being and must face Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), an ancient Betaal who seeks to dominate the world.

Mandanna plays Tadaka, a vampire-like figure, a role that the actress has described as unique. Mandanna said she was looking for roles that would push her as a performer and found that in Tadaka. She immersed herself in Sarpotdar's vision for the character, relying on his guidance to bring Tadaka to life. "I remember telling him, 'Sir, I'm a white slate, you tell me what to do, you tell me how to do this and you tell me how much of the emotions I need to do'," Mandanna stated, emphasizing her trust in the director's expertise.

Sarpotdar's praise highlights Mandanna's work ethic and her willingness to embrace challenging roles. According to reports, "Thamma" earned ₹2.55 crore on its eleventh day, bringing its total domestic collection to over ₹110.95 crore.

"Thamma" is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik. The film's music is composed by Sachin–Jigar, with cinematography by Saurabh Goswami and editing by Hemanti Sarkar.

Rashmika Mandanna has had a successful year with roles in "Chhaava", "Sikandar", and "Kuberaa". She will be featured in "The Girlfriend", and "Mysaa".
