Shraddha Kapoor has begun filming for "Eetha," a biopic directed by Laxman Utekar, where she will portray the life of the legendary Tamasha artist Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar. Production for the film began on November 1, 2025.

The film's title, "Eetha," is a regional pronunciation of "Vittha," which is commonly used in certain areas of Maharashtra, especially in villages, adding an authentic touch to the movie.

Vithabai, born in July 1935 in Pandharpur, Solapur district, came from a family of performers and began her career at a young age. She was highly respected among Marathi-speaking audiences and was known for her energetic dance performances and powerful voice, helping to popularize the Tamasha art form. She received the President's Award twice for her contributions to folk culture, first in 1957 and again in 1990. The film aims to highlight Vithabai's inspiring journey and her significant impact on Indian performing arts.

Shraddha Kapoor reunites with "Stree" producer Dinesh Vijan for "Eetha". The music for the film is being composed by Ajay-Atul, further connecting it with local audiences. "Eetha" is expected to resonate with Marathi audiences as it features a Hindi actor with roots in Maharashtrian culture.

Kapoor was last seen in "Stree 2," which was released in theaters on August 15, 2024, and grossed over Rs 500 crore at the box office. She is also slated to appear in "Stree 3," scheduled for release in August 2027, and the trilogy film "Naagin".
