Offset, the rapper known for his work with Migos and his solo career, is facing a lawsuit filed by a security guard alleging assault and battery at a Los Angeles dispensary. Jim Leobardo Sanchez, the security guard, claims the incident occurred on March 14 at MedMen LAX when he asked Offset for identification upon entry.
According to court documents filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on October 28, Sanchez states that Offset became "hostile, verbally confrontational, and physically attacked Plaintiff by striking him in the face" after being asked for his ID. The lawsuit further alleges that multiple people accompanying Offset joined in the assault, causing Sanchez severe neck pain and headaches. Paramedics were called to the scene, and Sanchez was transported to Centinela Hospital for emergency medical care. He is now suing Offset for assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Sanchez is represented by attorneys Michael T. Karikomi and Savion Cotten of Katchko, Vitiello & Karikomi, PC, and is demanding a jury trial.
Offset's representatives have denied the allegations, stating that they are "complete and total BS". Sources close to the rapper told TMZ Hip Hop that Sanchez rushed at Offset and spat on him, leading to the physical confrontation. These sources also claim that the guard used mace against Offset and his entourage. Offset has not yet publicly commented on the lawsuit.
This is not the first time Offset has been involved in such an incident. In 2023, he was sued for allegedly assaulting a security guard at ComplexCon in 2021. Daveon Clark claimed that Offset struck him after Clark denied entry to rapper YRN Murk, who then allegedly spat on him. Offset denied the allegations at the time, stating that he was trying to break up a fight.
Offset, 33, is known for hits like "Jealousy" and "Worth It". He has six children, including Blossom, Wave, and Kulture with his estranged wife, Cardi B, and Kody, Jordan, and Kalea Marie from previous relationships. He recently praised his mother for teaching him to instill "discipline" in his children.
