In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Daboo Malik stated that he was unaware of who his son was referring to but believes that every creative person needs a special love story to inspire their work, whether real or imaginary. He emphasized the importance of such inspiration for composers, writers, and creative individuals, suggesting that without it, their art would not come to life. Daboo further added that he feels Amaal's recent track "Kyun Mujhse Door Tha" might be inspired by this imaginary love story.
In an exclusive interview with Screen, Daboo Malik opened up about Amaal Mallik's personal life, hinting at what he called an "invisible love story". Balancing privacy with curiosity, Daboo spoke candidly about Amaal's rumored secret girlfriend and how love often inspires an artist's most heartfelt creations. Daboo Malik said that he doesn't know about Amaal's special someone and that it is an invisible love story. He jokingly said that he is going to write a new script about a man who created a lover and put that lover in a third dimension and is loving the lover from the third dimension.
When asked about Amaal Mallik's connection with Tanya Mittal on Bigg Boss 19, Daboo Malik told Bollywood Bubble that he loves Tanya and thinks she is special. He admires their genuine on-screen chemistry and would love to meet all contestants post-show, especially Tanya. He also added that he thinks Amaal and Tanya are just friends and he doesn't think Amaal is the character people are assuming him to be. Amaal clarified that he wasn't seeking a love angle with Tanya, revealing he had feelings for someone outside the show. Despite their visible bond, Amaal denied any mutual romantic involvement with Tanya.
