The production house behind Dhanush's upcoming film, tentatively titled "D54", has made an official request to fans, urging them not to share any leaked footage or clips from the movie's sets. The plea follows the circulation of a video from the set on social media.
Vels Film International, the film's production company, conveyed their message via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, stating, "We request our dear fans to support us by not sharing any footage from the sets of #D54. Your cooperation means everything!". The producer, Ishari Ganesh, is producing the film under the Vels Film International banner.
"D54" is directed by Vignesh Raja, known for his 2023 mystery thriller "Por Thozhil". This film marks the second collaboration between Raja and writer Alfred Prakash, who also worked together on "Por Thozhil".
The makers officially announced the project earlier this year, generating considerable excitement among fans regarding Dhanush and Vignesh Raja's first collaboration. The announcement included a poster featuring Dhanush in a burning field, captioned with the tagline, "Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive". This sparked curiosity about the film's action-packed and mysterious plot. Later, on Dhanush's birthday, a new image was revealed, showing the actor in a phone booth, hinting at a possible historical setting.
The film stars Dhanush, Mamitha Baiju, and Jayaram in leading roles. The cast also includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, K.S. Ravikumar, Karunas, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Kushmitha, and Nitin Sathiya. The technical crew includes GV Prakash as the music composer, Theni Easwar as the cinematographer, and Srijith Sarang as the editor.
Earlier in October, the producers announced that the film's production had wrapped up and is slated for release in February next year. Fans have been reacting enthusiastically to the updates and are eagerly awaiting official news about the film. The producers' request aims to control the spread of leaked footage from the film set.
