The movie is slated to hit theaters on January 9, 2026, coinciding with the Pongal festival. This confirmation comes after speculation arose that the film's release might be postponed, with some reports suggesting a shift to the summer of 2026.
KVN Productions, the production house behind 'Jana Nayagan,' took to social media to share the new poster, effectively silencing the rumors. The poster features Vijay amidst a large crowd, dressed in a blue shirt and aviator sunglasses, projecting the image of a people's leader. The caption accompanying the poster read, "Let's Begin," signaling the start of the film's promotional activities.
'Jana Nayagan' is particularly significant as it is expected to be Vijay's last film before he transitions into a full-time political career. Vijay launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in February 2024 and has announced his intentions to contest in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
