Chennai, November 8, 2025 – Actor and politician Kamal Haasan celebrated his 71st birthday yesterday, receiving warm wishes from various personalities, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin. The Chief Minister and his son visited Haasan at his residence to convey their greetings in person.
Haasan shared photos and videos of the visit on social media, expressing his joy and reflecting on the long-standing friendship his family shares with M.K. Stalin's family. He noted that his connection with the family spans three generations, beginning with the late M. Karunanidhi, former Chief Minister and M.K. Stalin's father.
In his social media posts, Haasan fondly recalled his relationship with Karunanidhi, emphasizing the "unconditional pure grandeur" and "respect beyond limits" that characterized their bond. He observed how children typically maintain a respectful distance from their father's friends, but his relationship with the Stalin family transcended this norm due to their deep-rooted connection.
M.K. Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin presented Haasan with a painting as a birthday gift during their visit. The visuals shared by Haasan captured a warm and cordial atmosphere, with the two families engaging in friendly conversation. Even prior to the visit, both the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister extended their birthday wishes to Haasan through social media.
Kamal Haasan, leader of the Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) political party, was recently nominated to the Rajya Sabha with support from the DMK. This nomination has further strengthened the political ties between the two parties. In August 2025, Haasan visited Stalin at his residence to check on his health after the Chief Minister was discharged from the hospital following a brief illness. Udhayanidhi Stalin was also present during that meeting. Prior to that, in April 2025, Haasan met with M.K. Stalin and Udhayanidhi Stalin to congratulate the Chief Minister on the Supreme Court's verdict regarding the powers of the Governor.
On the professional front, Kamal Haasan was recently seen in Mani Ratnam's gangster film Thug Life, alongside Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Abhirami. He is currently producing a film starring Rajinikanth, directed by Sundar C, under his Raaj Kamal Films International banner. Haasan is also slated to appear in Shankar's Indian 3.
