Mona Singh on Directing with Aryan Khan in Netflix's 'The Ba***ds Of Bollywood': A Visionary Experience

Mona Singh, known for her versatility and captivating performances, recently shared her experiences working on Netflix's "The Ba***ds Of Bollywood," directed by Aryan Khan. In an exclusive interview, Singh shed light on Khan's directorial style, offering insights into his vision and on-set demeanor.

"Aryan is the youngest director I have worked with," Mona Singh revealed. "What's truly remarkable is his clarity of vision. He knew exactly what he wanted from each scene and how he wanted the story to unfold. As an actor, it's incredibly reassuring to work with a director who possesses such confidence and precision".

"The Ba***ds of Bollywood" marks Aryan Khan's directorial debut. The series, produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment, premiered on Netflix on September 18, 2025, and has garnered positive reviews for its satirical take on the inner workings of Bollywood. The show features Bobby Deol, Lakshya Lalwani, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Anya Singh, Manoj Pahwa, and Manish Chaudhari, among others. Mona Singh plays Neeta Singh, Aasmaan's mother, in the series.

Singh also addressed the popular perception of Aryan Khan as being serious and reserved. "He's such a kid at heart. Always smiling, laughing, and cracking jokes," she shared. "He's full of energy, very dedicated, and always makes sure the entire team actors and crew alike are happy and on the same page". She added that Khan created a comfortable and positive work environment, ensuring a light-hearted atmosphere even during long shooting hours.

Mona recalled a moment during the show's premiere when the cast playfully tried to coax Aryan into smiling for the paparazzi. "On the day of the premiere, we all said, 'Aaj toh camera pe smile karega yeh!' But he chose not to,” Mona revealed with a laugh. “It's his call he wants to maintain a particular image in public, and that's completely fine. To each their own".

Mona also shared the experience of recreating the iconic song "Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela" for the series. The scene went viral, with many fans wondering if Mona was in the original 1997 movie Gupt: The Hidden Truth with Bobby Deol.

Before the release of "The Ba***ds Of Bollywood," reports surfaced that Mona Singh had begun dubbing for her character, indicating that the project was progressing rapidly. Sources suggested that her character has a strong emotional arc, and Mona was focused on bringing out every nuance in her voice work.
