Sonakshi Sinha, who married actor Zaheer Iqbal in an intimate ceremony on June 23, 2024, has been the subject of pregnancy rumors, and has spoken about her work offers after marriage. Sinha has addressed the pregnancy rumors with humor and grace, while also expressing her enthusiasm to take on substantial roles in her career.
Since marrying Iqbal, Sinha has faced pregnancy speculation multiple times. Most recently, rumors sparked after she was seen at a Diwali party. Sinha responded to the speculation with a witty Instagram post, "World record holder for longest pregnancy in human history (16 months and counting according to our lovely and hyper intelligent media) simply for posing with hand around midsection". She also included a photo of herself and Iqbal laughing at the rumors.
Previously, Sinha addressed pregnancy rumors by sharing a humorous WhatsApp exchange with Iqbal, where she playfully scolded him for constantly offering her food, which she jokingly blamed for the rumors. She captioned the screenshot: “The reason why everyone thinks I'm preggos. Stop it @iamzahero". In another instance, after being spotted at a hospital shortly after her wedding, Sinha clarified that they were visiting her father, Shatrughan Sinha, who was hospitalized for a fever. She quipped that she can't go to the hospital without sparking pregnancy speculation.
In an interview, Sinha shared her thoughts on married life and addressed the rumors, stating, "Life has never been better," and that she was happy to be back at work. She also added, "The only change is ab hum hospital nahi ja sakte, kyunki jaisi hi aap niklo, logo ko lagta hai ki aap pregnant ho (The only change is that I can't go to the hospital now because as soon as I step out, people think I'm pregnant)". Sinha dispelled the idea that marriage brings drastic changes, calling it "fun and amazing". She also stated that she finds it strange that people are more curious about her marriage than her parents are.
Regarding her career, Sinha is keen on taking on "big roles, important roles". She expressed her desire to continue challenging herself with roles that offer depth and significance, similar to her experience in the film Akira. Sinha is open to exploring different genres and is currently promoting her upcoming film Nikita Roy, directed by her brother, Kussh S Sinha, and also starring Arjun Rampal and Paresh Rawal. She is also part of the Telugu film Jatadhara, which was released on November 7, 2025.
