Taylor Swift is giving fans a peek into her relationship with Travis Kelce in the upcoming docuseries, "The End of an Era," and it sounds like the NFL star was quite the unexpected surprise. In a newly released clip, the pop superstar calls Kelce the "greatest surprise" of her life, offering a rare glimpse into their romance.
The six-part docuseries, set to premiere on Disney+ on December 12, chronicles Swift's record-breaking Eras Tour, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the tour's development and impact. But it seems the series will also delve into Swift's personal life, including her relationship with her now-fiancé.
In the clip, Swift reflects on how her "most meaningful relationship" began. "The most meaningful relationship I've ever had started out with a man saying he was butthurt that I didn't want to meet him," she says, referencing Kelce's comments on his "New Heights" podcast. Kelce had recounted his attempt to meet Swift after attending her Eras Tour show in Kansas City in July 2023, lamenting that he couldn't give her a friendship bracelet with his number on it because she doesn't meet people before or after her shows to save her voice.
Swift "very adorably put me on blast" she said in December, revealing that they began "hanging out" shortly after that.
The clip also features Swift's mom, Andrea, who says, "Travis Kelce brings a lot of happiness". Swift then jokes about the similarities and differences between their careers: "We both entertain. His with considerably more violence than mine". A lighthearted moment in the teaser shows Swift on the phone with Kelce, where he says, "You've got teammates, I've got teammates," and she replies, "You've got Coach [Andy] Reid, I've got my mom".
"The End of an Era" promises an intimate look at Swift's life during the Eras Tour, featuring backstage moments, special performances with other artists, and insights from her inner circle. The first two episodes will be available on Disney+ on December 12, with new episodes released weekly.
In addition to the docuseries, Disney+ will also premiere "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show" on December 12, a recording of her final Eras Tour performance on December 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. The filmed concert will include footage of her performances from her album The Tortured Poets Department, which wasn't included in her first concert film. ABC will also air the first episode of "The End of an Era" on December 12, along with a one-hour presentation of "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show".
The Eras Tour, which ran from March 2023 to December 2024, grossed over $2 billion and included 149 shows across five continents. Swift described the tour as "the most thrilling chapter of my entire life".
