Delhi Government Exempts Farhan Akhtar's '120 Bahadur' from Entertainment Tax: All the Key Information.

The Delhi government has declared Farhan Akhtar’s "120 Bahadur" tax-free in Delhi. The announcement was made on Thursday by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, as a mark of respect to the valorous soldiers portrayed in the film.

"120 Bahadur" is a war drama that tells the story of the Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The film stars Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, who led Charlie Company of the 13th Kumaon Regiment in a heroic last stand against a much larger Chinese force. The company, consisting of 120 soldiers, held off over 2000 Chinese troops in a battle that has become a symbol of courage and sacrifice in Indian military history. Only six soldiers survived the clash.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared her thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the film pays tribute to the "extraordinary courage, leadership, and sacrifice" of the 120 soldiers of Charlie Company. She highlighted Major Shaitan Singh Bhati's inspiring leadership, noting his actions remain a defining symbol of courage in India's military history. The Delhi government's decision to grant tax-free status to "120 Bahadur" is effective from November 28.

The tax exemption is expected to encourage more people, including families and students, to watch the film and learn about this important historical event.

"120 Bahadur" hit theaters on November 21, 2025. Directed by Razneesh "Razy" Ghai and produced by Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment, the film also stars Raashii Khanna, Vivan Bhatena, and Ankit Siwach. The film depicts the harsh conditions of Ladakh and the courage of the soldiers who fought there. Amitabh Bachchan lends his voice as the narrator.

The film has garnered praise from critics for its depiction of the battle and the performances of the cast. Shabana Azmi lauded Farhan Akhtar's transformation into Major Bhati. Prior to the Delhi government's announcement, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav praised the film. Farhan Akhtar thanked him for acknowledging the team's efforts.

While "120 Bahadur" has been appreciated for its patriotic message and performances, it has experienced a mild dip at the box office. As of Wednesday, November 27, the film had collected an estimated ₹14 crore net in India. Day-wise collections have been reported as follows: Friday ₹2.25 crore, Saturday ₹3.85 crore, Sunday ₹4 crore, Monday ₹1.4 crore, Tuesday ₹1.50 crore, and Wednesday ₹1 crore.
