Nayanthara, who celebrated her 41st birthday on November 18th, received a special surprise from Ulag and Uyir: a handmade birthday card. The card, which read "Happy Birthday to the best Amma in the world. Love, Ulag Uyir," was also shared by the actress. The gesture touched many fans, and the picture of the card quickly went viral.

Nayanthara and her husband, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan, welcomed their twins in 2022 via surrogacy. The couple married in Chennai on June 9, 2022, in a ceremony attended by close friends and family.
The birth of Uyir and Ulag was met with some controversy because commercial surrogacy had become illegal in India.
Vignesh has often expressed his appreciation for Nayanthara as a mother. On Mother's Day in May 2023, he shared unseen pictures from when their sons were born, writing, "Happy First Mother's Day to the Best mother in the world". He further added, "The strength you have to be confident and dedicated to whatever you do! I've seen a different person all these years! And always been inspired by your honesty and sincerity shown towards life and everything! But today, when I'm seeing you as a mother! This is by far the happiest and the most complete formation of you! You are complete now! You seem the happiest! You look content!".
In September 2024, the couple celebrated Uyir and Ulag's second birthday in Greece, sharing heartfelt posts and adorable pictures on social media. Nayanthara captioned a post, "Happy birthday, my Azhagannnsss. Every second I spend with u both feels like I have lived a whole lifetime in that tiny second. Love Life Magic Strength is alllll you. Thank you for this surreal life".
