Pawandeep Rajan's Harrowing Car Accident: Indian Idol 12 Winner Shares His Traumatic Experience and Recovery Journey.

Pawandeep Rajan, the winner of "Indian Idol 12," has recently opened up about a harrowing car accident that occurred on May 5, 2025, near Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh. In a recent podcast with musicians Salim and Sulaiman, the 28-year-old singer recounted the terrifying experience and the long road to recovery that followed.

Rajan was on his way to Delhi to catch a flight to Ahmedabad for a live performance when the accident took place around 3 AM. According to Rajan, the driver dozed off, causing the car to collide with a stationary truck on National Highway-9. The impact left Rajan with severe injuries, including fractures in both legs, an injury to his right arm, and a head injury.

Recalling the immediate aftermath of the crash, Rajan said, "I was just sitting there, my door was not opening, and only one hand was working. I was telling people to help me get out of the car". He also recounted the terrifying moment when the car caught fire, and he was trapped inside. "Initially, no one was helping us, then the police came. The car had caught fire, and I was inside it at the time. One of them pulled me out. I don't know how long I was inside, but when I woke up, I was out of the car," he shared.

Rajan was initially taken to a nearby government hospital before being transferred to a private hospital in Delhi NCR for multiple surgeries. His team issued a statement on his official Instagram handle, stating that he was stable and under medical observation after a 6-hour surgery. The driver and Pawandeep's co-passenger also suffered severe injuries and received treatment.

The accident left Rajan bedridden for months. "For a month, I couldn't move even from left to right," he revealed. "That time taught me the importance of being able to walk". Despite the challenges, Rajan maintained a positive attitude throughout his recovery. "When such incidents occur, you must accept them, move forward, and remain positive," he said.

Rajan has since made significant progress in his recovery. "I have started walking a little now, and maybe it will get better after a month," he shared. He also expressed his gratitude for being able to play the guitar again, noting that his hand is regaining strength. "Slowly, I've started walking and even playing the guitar again. My hand has regained some strength, but it still needs more healing," he said.

Pawandeep Rajan's resilience and positive outlook in the face of adversity have been an inspiration to his fans. His story serves as a reminder to appreciate the simple things in life and to approach challenges with courage and optimism.
