Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's "Tere Ishk Mein" has made ₹76.75 crore in its first six days at the Indian box office. The film, directed by Aanand L. Rai, experienced a slight dip in collections on its sixth day, but has still managed to cross the ₹100 crore mark worldwide.
The romantic drama opened strongly, earning ₹16 crore on its first day (Friday). Saturday saw a 6.25% increase, bringing in ₹17 crore, and Sunday peaked with ₹19 crore, an 11.76% rise. However, as the week progressed, the film experienced a significant drop, with Monday's collections falling to ₹8.75 crore, a 53.95% decrease. Tuesday saw a recovery with ₹10.25 crore (+17.14%), but Wednesday's earnings dipped again to ₹5.07 crore. Sacnilk.com reports that on its sixth day, the multilingual film brought in approximately ₹6.75 crore. Another report from Sacnilk.com mentions the movie earned around ₹6.85 crore India net on its sixth day for all languages.
Despite the mid-week slump, "Tere Ishk Mein" has performed well, particularly in metropolitan areas. The film's domestic gross total has reached an estimated ₹92.5 crore, with overseas earnings of approximately ₹8 crore, pushing the film past the ₹100 crore worldwide gross milestone within its first week.
Across key Indian cities, occupancy rates varied. Chennai and Jaipur led with 16%, followed by Lucknow at 15.33%. Mumbai, Pune, and NCR maintained steady occupancy rates between 12% and 13%, while Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Surat, and Bhopal recorded lower figures, ranging from 5.33% to 11.67%.
"Tere Ishk Mein" has emerged as Dhanush's biggest Bollywood hit to date and his first ₹100 crore worldwide grosser in Hindi cinema. It is also Kriti Sanon's seventh film to achieve this milestone. The film's youthful narrative and popular soundtrack have contributed to its success in the domestic market.
However, the release of new competitors, such as "Dhurandhar," may impact "Tere Ishk Mein's" box office performance in the coming days. Both films will have another week in cinemas before "Avatar: Fire and Ash" arrives in December.
Directed by Aanand L. Rai, "Tere Ishk Mein" stars Dhanush as Shankar and Kriti Sanon as Mukti.
