Sana Khan's Bollywood Exit: Did Husband Mufti Anas Influence Her Decision? The Actress Responds

Former actress Sana Khan, known for her roles in films like Jai Ho and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, has addressed the persistent rumors that her husband, Mufti Anas Sayed, "brainwashed" her into quitting Bollywood. Khan, who rose to fame after participating in Bigg Boss 6, left the entertainment industry in 2020, a decision that shocked many fans. She cited a desire to "serve humanity and follow the orders of my Creator" as the reason for her departure. Soon after, she married Mufti Anas Sayed, a Muslim cleric.

In a recent conversation with actress Rashami Desai, Khan discussed her decision to leave the industry and her marriage, emphasizing the personal and discreet nature of the entire process. She revealed that her wedding was a closely guarded secret, with only her parents knowing the details. "When our marriage was finalized, it was a top secret, nobody knew except for my mom and dad. Nobody even knew the groom's name," Khan said. She even recalled a moment during her Mehndi ceremony when the artist asked for the groom's name, and Khan instructed her to leave it blank.

Addressing the speculation that Mufti Anas Sayed influenced her decision to leave Bollywood, Khan firmly denied these claims. She explained that her transformation was already underway before her marriage. "The situation was such that major changes were happening in my life. I was literally transforming into a different person," she said. "And this was not something caused by my husband, it was something I wanted for myself. He was the one who guided me in that direction".

Khan directly responded to the online trolls who accused her husband of "brainwashing" her. "Nobody can brainwash you; it's never like that. I wanted peace," she stated. She further elaborated on her decision, "A person may get money, fame, name, and respect, but eventually, they keep searching for inner peace". Khan added that she values her relationship with her husband because he guided her toward the inner peace she was seeking.

Sana Khan began her career as a model and appeared in numerous TV commercials. She made her Bollywood debut in 2005 with Yehi Hai High Society. She appeared in several films, including Halla Bol, Jai Ho, Wajah Tum Ho, and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. Khan also participated in reality shows such as Bigg Boss 6 and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.
