Hrithik Roshan Lauds Agastya Nanda After Watching 'Ikkis' Trailer: ‘You Got Me Cheering’

Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has showered praise on Agastya Nanda following the release of the trailer for the upcoming war drama "Ikkis". Roshan took to social media to express his admiration for Nanda's performance and to extend his best wishes to the debutant and the entire team.

"Ikkis," directed by Sriram Raghavan, tells the inspiring true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest military honor. Agastya Nanda, grandson of Amitabh Bachchan, steps into the role of the valiant soldier, portraying his journey from a young cadet to a fearless tank commander during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The film depicts Khetarpal's extraordinary courage and sacrifice as he single-handedly destroyed multiple enemy tanks before making the ultimate sacrifice for his nation.

Roshan's encouraging words highlight the anticipation surrounding "Ikkis" and Nanda's portrayal of the war hero. The film marks a significant moment for Nanda, who made his acting debut in "The Archies". "Ikkis" presents him with his first major solo role in a theatrical release, a challenging role that requires him to embody both youthful innocence and unwavering resolve.

The trailer for "Ikkis" has already garnered significant attention, with audiences praising its evocative visuals and powerful narrative. It offers glimpses of Khetarpal's transformation from an enthusiastic cadet at the National Defence Academy to a courageous soldier on the battlefield. Veteran actor Dharmendra plays Lt Col M L Khetarpal, Arun's father, adding an emotional layer to the film's exploration of family bonds and patriotic duty. The cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia, Sikandar Kher, and Ekavali Khanna. Simar Bhatia is also making her debut with this film.

"Ikkis" is directed by Sriram Raghavan, known for his thrilling and engaging films such as "Andhadhun" and "Merry Christmas". Raghavan has stated that he was drawn to the story of Arun Khetarpal and aims to present an authentic portrayal of his life, avoiding a "comic-book hero version". The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, the banner behind successful films like "Stree," "Bhediya," and "Sky Force".

"Ikkis" is set to release in theaters on December 25, 2025. Producer Dinesh Vijan has announced that there will be previews of Ikkis in 21 cities on December 21. The film is already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated patriotic dramas of the year.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan has a busy year ahead with several highly anticipated projects. He will be seen in "War 2," releasing on August 14, 2025. Roshan will also make a cameo appearance in "Alpha," scheduled for release on December 25, 2025. Furthermore, fans can look forward to "Krrish 4," expected to release in 2026. A documentary series about his family called "The Roshans" was released on Netflix earlier this year.
