Tere Ishk Mein Box Office Success: Dhanush and Kriti's Film Crosses Rs 5 Crore Milestone in First Week

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's "Tere Ishk Mein" has crossed the ₹80 crore mark in India after a week in theaters. The romantic drama, directed by Aanand L. Rai, earned an estimated ₹5.75 crore on its seventh day, bringing its total domestic collection to approximately ₹83.60 crore. Worldwide, the film has grossed over ₹100 crore.

Despite a slight dip in collections on Day 7, "Tere Ishk Mein" has maintained a strong hold at the box office. The film opened with an estimated ₹16 crore on its first day and recorded its highest single-day collection on Sunday, earning ₹19 crore. While Monday saw a slowdown to ₹8.75 crore, collections rose again on Tuesday to ₹10.25 crore. Wednesday brought in ₹6.85 crore.

The film has been particularly successful in metropolitan regions such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, and Bengaluru, while also maintaining momentum in mass centers. "Tere Ishk Mein" has now surpassed the lifetime India haul of Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan-starrer "Vikram Vedha," which made ₹78.9 crores in 2022.

"Tere Ishk Mein" marks the third collaboration between director Aanand L. Rai and Dhanush. The film is described as a spiritual sequel to their previous collaboration, "Raanjhanaa" (2013). Set against the backdrop of a love story, "Tere Ishk Mein" explores themes of obsession and devotion, led by the performances of Dhanush and Kriti Sanon.

Dhanush plays Shankar, an Indian Air Force pilot grappling with inner turmoil. Kriti Sanon plays Mukti, a psychologist who tries to help him. According to Times of India, Dhanush excels as the "abrasive, aggressive young man" and Kriti Sanon matches him with a "high-voltage performance". Other cast members include Prakash Raj, Priyanshu Painyuli and Tota Roy Chowdhury.

The film's music, composed by A. R. Rahman, has also been well-received.

However, some critics have pointed out flaws in the storyline. The narrative shifts between the present and the past, and some found the plot to be fragmented and convoluted. Some critics felt that the film's nearly three-hour runtime was excessive.

"Tere Ishk Mein" faces competition from Ranveer Singh's "Dhurandhar," which was released on December 5, 2025. It remains to be seen how well "Tere Ishk Mein" will perform in its second week.
