Divyenndu plays Ratan, a police officer with aspirations, who is eager to advance in his life and career. According to Divyenndu, Ratan is driven by high expectations and a desire to break free from his current circumstances, with his mother also hoping for his success. While Ratan is an opportunist, this side of his character will be revealed as the story progresses. Divyenndu characterizes Ratan as a "go-getter" who is very human, someone who believes they are capable of more but lacks recognition and opportunity.
A key challenge for Divyenndu was to avoid portraying Ratan as simply a "grey" character. He explains that Ratan sees himself as justified in his actions, even with a hidden agenda, as he wants to crack the case and is involved with a girl. The narrative unfolds across two timelines, with a modern-day woman, Kavita, narrating Smita's past and revealing a complex story of deceit, distrust, and revenge.
