31st Critics Choice Awards Nominations: "Sinners" and "Adolescence" Dominate the Field With Numerous Nominations

The Critics Choice Association (CCA) has announced the nominations for the 31st annual Critics Choice Awards. Ryan Coogler's "Sinners" leads the film nominations with an impressive 17 nods, closely followed by Paul Thomas Anderson's "One Battle After Another" with 14 nominations. On the television side, "Adolescence" garnered the most nominations with six.

"Sinners" secured a nomination for Best Picture, along with nominations for cast members Michael B. Jordan, Wunmi Mosaku, and Miles Caton. Michael B. Jordan is nominated for Best Actor, and Wunmi Mosaku is nominated for Best Supporting Actress. "One Battle After Another" also received a Best Picture nomination, with Leonardo DiCaprio nominated for Best Actor, Chase Infiniti for Best Actress, and Benicio del Toro and Sean Penn for Best Supporting Actor.

Other prominent contenders in the Best Picture category include "Bugonia", "Frankenstein", "Hamnet", "Jay Kelly", "Marty Supreme", "Sentimental Value", "Train Dreams", and "Wicked: For Good". "Hamnet" and "Frankenstein" each garnered 11 nominations.

In the television categories, "Adolescence" leads with six nominations, including Best Limited Series, Best Actor in a Limited Series (Stephen Graham), Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series (Owen Cooper and Ashley Walters), and Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series (Erin Doherty and Christine Tremarco). Strong contenders in the drama series category include "The Pitt" and "Severance," each with four nominations. On the comedy side, Season 2 of "Nobody Wants This" leads with five nominations, followed by "Hacks" with four and "The Studio" with three.

The Critics Choice Awards ceremony, hosted by Chelsea Handler for the fourth consecutive year, will broadcast live on January 4 on E! and USA Network from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
