The filming of the highly anticipated horror-thriller Haiwaan, starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar, has officially wrapped up. Makers of the film, including production house Thespian Films, shared behind-the-scenes photos on social media on Sunday, December 7, 2025, marking the occasion.
The pictures feature Saif Ali Khan and director Priyadarshan celebrating the completion of the film's shoot with a cake-cutting ceremony. Saiyami Kher, who also plays a pivotal role in the movie, was also present in the photos. The shared images convey the team's excitement and pride as the project moves into its next phase. "It's a wrap of our film 'Haiwaan'! Our hearts are full today with love, gratitude and pride! See you soon at the Theaters!” read the caption on the post. A clapboard from the set confirmed December 7, 2025, as the final filming date and gave thanks to Priyadarshan and Divakar Mani for cinematography.
Haiwaan marks a significant reunion for several members of the cast and crew. It is the first time Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, and Priyadarshan have worked together as a trio. Furthermore, it reunites Akshay and Saif on screen after 17 years, since their last appearance together in Tashan (2008). The film also stars Shriya Pilgaonkar in a key role.
The film is inspired by Priyadarshan's 2016 Malayalam thriller Oppam. However, the director has stated that the Hindi adaptation includes significant changes to the dialogue and screenplay. The original film featured Mohanlal as a visually impaired man who becomes the protector of a judge's daughter. Priyadarshan has confirmed that Mohanlal will make a cameo appearance in Haiwaan. Saif Ali Khan will be playing the lead role of a visually challenged man with heightened senses, and Akshay Kumar will be seen as the antagonist.
Filming for Haiwaan took place in various locations, including Mumbai, Kochi, Vagamon and Ooty. The makers are aiming for a theatrical release in 2026. The film is produced by KVN Productions in association with Thespian Films, and jointly produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn.
