Nivin Pauly is set to make his web series debut with "Pharma," a medical thriller that explores the hidden realities of the pharmaceutical industry and the impact of business decisions on patients' lives. The series will start streaming on JioHotstar on December 19, 2025.
The makers of "Pharma" unveiled the trailer on Friday, December 5th, revealing the release date and offering a glimpse into the series' gripping narrative. To reach a wider audience, "Pharma" will be available in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Marathi, in addition to Malayalam.
"Pharma" tells the story of KP Vinod, a young and ambitious medical sales representative, played by Nivin Pauly. Vinod initially struggles to convince doctors and hospitals to buy his company's new drug, KydoXin. However, he eventually succeeds and becomes a star employee, but soon discovers the severe side effects of the medication on patients, leaving him guilt-ridden. The series raises questions about consumer awareness and the potential dangers when profit is prioritized over patient safety. Vinod decides to stand up against powerful corporate entities, raising the question of whether he will be able to right the wrongs he has committed.
Directed by P R Arun, "Pharma" features an ensemble cast including Rajit Kapur, Narain, Veena Nandakumar, Shruti Ramachandran, Muthumani, and Aalekh Kapoor. The series is written by P R Arun, known for tackling socially relevant themes. Abhinandan Ramanujam is the cinematographer, Sreejith Sarang is the editor, and Jakes Bejoy composed the music.
The series had its premiere at the 55th International Film Festival of India in November 2024. "Pharma" is anticipated to premiere on Jio Hotstar at 12 AM on December 19, 2025.
Nivin Pauly is also set to appear in "Sarvam Maya," a horror-comedy film directed by Akhil Sathyan, scheduled for release on December 25, 2025. Additionally, he is involved in a political thriller drama directed by B. Unnikrishnan and the Raghava Lawrence starrer "Benz".
