Shilpa Shetty's Bengaluru Nightclub Faces Turmoil: Brawl Erupts, Actress Embroiled in New Controversy.

Bengaluru, December 14, 2025 – A late-night altercation at Bastian, a Bengaluru nightclub co-owned by Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, has prompted a police investigation after videos of the incident circulated widely on social media. The incident reportedly occurred around 1:30 am on December 11 at the pub on St. Mark's Road.

According to reports, the dispute involved a heated argument among patrons, with the footage, purportedly from CCTV cameras, capturing raised voices and verbal clashes. However, no physical violence is evident in the video. Preliminary information suggests the argument arose over a disagreement regarding the bill. Staff members intervened and managed to de-escalate the situation.

Among those present at the nightclub was businessman Satya Naidu, a former Bigg Boss contestant and ex-husband of a television anchor. Naidu has denied any wrongdoing, stating that he was at Bastian for dinner with friends and that the issue was solely related to the bill. "The issue arose while paying the bill, and there was no physical altercation," he stated.

The Central Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) has confirmed that authorities have taken "suo motu cognisance" of the incident. Law enforcement is currently reviewing CCTV footage and witness statements to determine the events that transpired. Individuals involved in the argument have been summoned for questioning. Police have stated that a case will be registered if any serious offenses are identified during the investigation.

Shilpa Shetty partnered with restaurateur Ranjit Bindra, founder of the Bastian brand, in 2019. This incident at the Bengaluru establishment follows the closure of Bastian Bandra in Mumbai in September 2025. The Mumbai closure occurred shortly after Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, faced accusations of a ₹60 crore fraud. Deepak Kothari, a Mumbai-based businessman, alleged that the couple defrauded him through their now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. Kothari claimed that funds invested for business expansion were misappropriated.

Shetty and Kundra have denied these fraud allegations, with their lawyer, Prashant Patil, describing them as civil in nature and already addressed by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). Patil stated that the company faced financial distress and legal battles but that there was no criminal element.

This is not the first time a Bastian restaurant has been in the news for unwanted reasons. In 2017, bouncers at Bastian in Bandra, Mumbai, were involved in a brawl with photographers attempting to take pictures of Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra.

The investigation into the Bengaluru nightclub incident is ongoing. Authorities are expected to release further details as they become available.
