Ali Fazal Completes Lahore 1947 Filming Post-Mirzapur, an Aamir Khan Production Schedule Ends.

Ali Fazal has concluded his work on Aamir Khan Productions' Lahore 1947, following the completion of his Mirzapur: The Movie commitments. The actor had been juggling schedules between the two projects, filming the final leg of Lahore 1947 in Mumbai and Punjab since October. Last week marked the end of his involvement in the period drama, which features Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Shabana Azmi in leading roles.

Lahore 1947 is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan. The film is set against the backdrop of the Partition of India in 1947 and explores a story rooted in history with universal emotions. The cast includes Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Karan Deol, and Abhimanyu Singh.

Fazal reflected on his experience, stating that working under Rajkumar Santoshi's direction was a masterclass. He also expressed his honor in sharing screen space with Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Shabana Azmi, noting that each day on set felt like a lesson in cinema, humility, and dedication. He added that the film demanded a lot from him emotionally, mentally, and physically, and he is excited for audiences to see a new side of him.

Lahore 1947 marks the first collaboration between Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, and Rajkumar Santoshi. Aamir Khan is producing the film, and there have been reports suggesting he may also make a guest appearance. The film's music is composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics by Javed Akhtar. Santosh Sivan is handling the cinematography.

The film's production involved extensive research to accurately depict the historical period of India's partition. Sets were meticulously designed to recreate the streets and atmosphere of Lahore in the 1940s. A grand train sequence is expected to be a highlight, potentially setting new standards for visual storytelling in Partition-era films.

Lahore 1947 was initially slated for release on January 26, 2025, but has been delayed due to post-production work. The release date is now expected to be in 2026.

Ali Fazal is known for his portrayal of Guddu Bhaiya in the web series Mirzapur and his roles in the Fukrey franchise. His addition to Lahore 1947 has heightened anticipation for the film.

With Lahore 1947 now nearing completion, Fazal is continuing his work across genres, solidifying his position as a versatile actor.
