Annapurna Studios, a prominent Indian film studio with a rich history, is bolstering its post-production capabilities by welcoming acclaimed colorist Andreas Brueckl. Brueckl's arrival signals a significant move for the studio, promising to elevate the visual quality of its upcoming projects.
Founded in 1976 by Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Annapurna Studios has been a cornerstone of the Telugu film industry, also known as Tollywood. Situated on a 22-acre site in Hyderabad, the studio offers comprehensive production and post-production services, contributing to over 60 feature films. After a period of relative slowdown, Annapurna Studios is now gearing up for a series of new film productions.
Andreas Brueckl brings over two decades of experience in the field of color grading, having worked across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His portfolio includes work on acclaimed series such as "Paatal Lok" and blockbuster films like "Jailer," showcasing his ability to enhance visual storytelling across diverse genres. Brueckl's expertise extends to commercials, where he has contributed to award-winning campaigns, earning him Apollo Awards for his color grading work in 2017. He was also an early adopter of ACES and HDR.
Brueckl's career spans across continents, with experience in Germany, Turkey, Malaysia, India, and the UAE. He has held key positions such as lead colorist at 1000Volt in Istanbul and building up the color grading department at Pinewood Studios Iskandar Malaysia. Before joining Annapurna, Brueckl served as Creative Director at Genomedia Studios in Dubai and Supervising Colorist at DNEG.
Annapurna Studios has a long-standing commitment to innovation and quality. The studio's post-production division was established in 2011, and in 2012, five advanced production floors were unveiled. These facilities provide a complete range of services, from editing and dubbing to animation and sound mixing. The studio has been actively involved in film production, distribution, and television production. Annapurna International School of Film and Media was established in 2011.
