Ram Charan Reveals Insights Into His Character "Peddi" And His Vision For The Upcoming Film

Ram Charan is currently immersed in filming for his upcoming sports drama, "Peddi," directed by Buchi Babu Sana. The film is slated for release on March 27, 2026, and anticipation is building within the Indian film industry.

Ram Charan recently offered fans a glimpse into his preparation for the role, sharing a photo on Instagram showcasing his enhanced physique. The actor's dedication to embodying his character is well-known, and this transformation has further fueled excitement for the film. In the caption, Ram Charan wrote, "Fired up. Working in silence. Ready for the next challenge @Peddimovie,". This statement reflects his serious mindset and the hard work he's putting into the physically demanding sequences.

"Peddi" is produced by Vriddhi Cinemas and presented by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Sukumar Writings. The film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead, alongside Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, and Divyenndu in prominent roles.

The film's music is composed by A.R. Rahman, and the first single, "Chikiri Chikiri," has already garnered over 200 million views across multiple languages. The song's popularity, combined with Ram Charan's dance moves, has contributed to the film's global buzz. Another song from the album is expected to be released soon.

"Peddi" is planned as a pan-Indian film with a wide theatrical release. The film is being described as a large-scale sports drama with emotional depth. Shooting commenced in November 2024 across locations like Mysuru, Hyderabad, Colombo, Kanyakumari, and Pune and wrapped up in November 2025.

Earlier the film was referred to as RC16. The first official poster and a video teaser were released in March 2025. The teaser showcased Ram Charan in a rugged look, sporting a long beard and nose ring.
