Rani Mukerji Joins Mumbai Police Night Patrol: Preparing for Mardaani 3 with Real-World Experience

In anticipation of "Mardaani 3," actress Rani Mukerji engaged with the Mumbai Police during one of their night patrols. This interaction highlights the demanding work of the police force and promotes vigilance in preventing crime.

Mukerji, who has portrayed a police officer in the "Mardaani" series, spent time with a specialized night patrol team, observing their work in protecting the city. She expressed her admiration for their dedication, noting the long 12-hour shifts they undertake every night from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.. "Strict vigilance can prevent a lot of crimes, and I salute the entire police force of our country for protecting us day and night," Mukerji stated, acknowledging their unwavering commitment. She further added, "I can't imagine a society without them. Their daily sacrifices and unwavering sense of duty help us live peacefully and I want to do my small bit to highlight the incredible work being done by our police force".

The actress described the experience as "eye-opening," emphasizing the importance of the police in ensuring the safety and security of citizens, allowing families to sleep peacefully and commuters to feel protected during odd hours. She thanked the Maharashtra Police for educating her on their efforts.

During the interaction, Kalpana Suravse, head of the night patrol team in Mumbai, shared essential safety tips for late-night commuters. Suravse advised individuals to note the vehicle's number while commuting and, in case of suspicious activity, to have the details readily available for the police. She also recommended using cell phones with GPRS to keep the map on for location tracking purposes. "We are always there to act swiftly, but these small things can make a huge difference," Suravse stated.

Mukerji's "Mardaani" franchise features her as Shivani Shivaji Roy, a fierce police officer tackling challenging cases. The first film, "Mardaani," was released in 2014, followed by "Mardaani 2" in 2019, where she confronts a young serial killer targeting women in Kota, Rajasthan.
