Demi Lovato and Diplo Debut New Track at HIV Awareness Gala: A Night of Music and Advocacy

West Hollywood, CA – In a dazzling display of music and advocacy, Demi Lovato joined Diplo on stage at MISTR's inaugural National PrEP Day celebration held at The Abbey in West Hollywood on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The event, a culmination of a 10-day national campaign by MISTR and SISTR, aimed to enroll 10,000 new people on PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) to help end HIV in America.

The evening was emceed by Bob the Drag Queen and MISTR CEO Tristan Schukraft, blending drag performances, surprise musical acts, and a united message of HIV prevention. Schukraft emphasized the importance of community, sex positivity, and accessible healthcare in the fight against HIV.

Demi Lovato, who recently turned 33, took to the DJ booth during Diplo's set to debut her new single, "Kiss". Lovato encouraged the crowd to "Let's make out, have fun and be safe with MISTR!". "Kiss" was officially released on Friday, October 10, accompanied by a music video. The new single is the third teaser from Lovato's upcoming album, It's Not That Deep, which is scheduled to be released on October 24. The album will feature a total of eleven tracks and marks Lovato's return to pop sensibilities. Previously released singles from the album include "Fast" and "Here All Night". "Fast," released on August 1, 2025, is a diva house song that was marketed as Lovato's return to pop music. "Here All Night" was released on September 12, 2025, continuing Lovato's shift back to pop following several years of rock-focused music.

The celebration also featured a surprise performance by Dua Lipa, who performed her hits "New Rules," "Don't Start Now," and "Houdini". A lineup of drag all-stars, including Symone, Aquaria, Trinity the Tuck, Shea Couleé, and Plastique Tiara, paid tribute to Dua Lipa with their own routines before joining her on stage.

Other notable attendees included Cardi B, Tamar Braxton, Kim Petras, Matt Bomer, NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Omar Apollo, Shea Couleé, Colton Underwood, and many more. Cardi B voiced her support for National PrEP Day, emphasizing the importance of accessible and shame-free sexual health resources. She also encouraged her fans to learn about PrEP, stating that "it's not just for gay men, it's for everybody".

MISTR hosted National PrEP Day events in 15 cities nationwide, underscoring the importance of PrEP access, sexual health equity, and community engagement. PrEP is a daily pill or twice-yearly injection that reduces the risk of HIV transmission by 99%.

Lovato stated that "MISTR is doing incredible work for the community. Everyone's health care should be accessible and affordable, especially when it comes to life-saving medication like PrEP". They added, "It's so important to talk about sexual health so that we're looking out for one another, and the queer community has done an incredible job at that".
