Fede Dorcaz, a 29-year-old Argentine singer and model, has died after being shot in Mexico City on Thursday, October 9, 2025. The incident is believed to have occurred during an attempted robbery shortly after Dorcaz left rehearsals for "Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy," the Mexican version of "Strictly Come Dancing".

According to reports, the Mexico City Secretariat of Public Safety (SSC) confirmed that Dorcaz was attacked while driving home. He was shot in the neck while attempting to exit a ring road and died at the scene. The SSC is currently analyzing video surveillance footage to identify the perpetrators, believed to be four men who fled on two motorcycles. The Public Prosecutor's Office has been notified and is conducting forensic services and joint investigations.

Dorcaz was scheduled to appear on the new season of "Las Estrellas Bailan En Hoy," with his girlfriend, singer and actor Mariana Ávila. The show was set to premiere the following week.

"The HOY family mourns the sad passing of our friend and colleague, Fede Dorcaz," the show wrote on Instagram. "We share in the grief felt by his entire family, his parents, and his girlfriend, Mariana Avila...Fede leaves a huge void in our team. His memory and his passion will continue to inspire us forever. Rest in peace, Fede Dorcaz." Ávila has not yet made a public statement.

Born and raised in Argentina, Dorcaz moved to Spain with his family at age 13. He initially pursued a modeling career before transitioning to Latin pop music. Dorcaz achieved success with songs like "Cara Bonita" and "Volver A Empezar". In May 2024, Rolling Stone described him as "the rising Latin star ready to redefine global Latin pop". He had been living in Mexico for the past three years and had performed a series of sold-out shows across the country in 2024.
