Mohit Yadav is making waves as the newest judge on Shark Tank India Season 5. He is the Co-Founder of Minimalist, a skincare brand known for its focus on transparency and science-backed formulations. Yadav's addition to the show promises a fresh perspective, sharp insights, and fearless investing.
Yadav is not only an entrepreneur but also a Chartered Accountant with over 15 years of experience across finance, technology, and consumer brands. He secured an All India Rank of 26 from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and is a Gold Medalist in the field. He also holds a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Rajasthan.
Before making his mark in the startup world, Yadav gained experience in the financial sector. He worked at Deloitte as an Assistant Manager and later at Credit Suisse as an AVP. However, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to co-found Scopial Fashion (later rebranded as MangoStreet), an online T-shirt store, with his brother Rahul in 2008. MangoStreet was later acquired by Hushbabies.com.
Yadav's journey continued at CarDekho, where he played a key role in establishing the company's international presence in Indonesia. He then served as CEO of Oto.com, an automobile portal launched as a joint venture between CarDekho and Emtek.
In 2020, Yadav and his brother launched Minimalist, a brand that quickly gained recognition for its commitment to transparency and effective skincare products. Minimalist's success can be attributed to its focus on consumer needs and science-backed strategies. The brand avoids gimmicky marketing tactics and prioritizes clear communication about its ingredients and formulations. Within eight months of launching, Minimalist reached an impressive INR 100 crore in revenue. In early 2025, Hindustan Unilever acquired a 90.5% stake in Minimalist, marking a significant milestone for the brand.
Yadav describes his philosophy as "substance over static". He expresses excitement about joining Shark Tank India 5 and partnering with entrepreneurs who build with purpose and lead with radical transparency. His experience in finance, technology, and building a successful D2C brand makes him a valuable addition to the Shark Tank panel.
Besides his entrepreneurial ventures, Yadav has also made investments as an angel investor in companies like Batt:RE and SportsApp. He has a diverse skill set that includes e-commerce, start-ups, marketing strategy, and finance.
