The Madras High Court has intervened in the ongoing divorce proceedings between actor Ravi Mohan (also known as Jayam Ravi) and his wife, Aarti Ravi, issuing a directive that restrains both parties from making defamatory statements against each other, particularly on public platforms and social media. This order comes in response to a petition filed by Ravi Mohan, who sought an injunction against Aarti and her mother, Sujatha Vijayakumar, to prevent further derogatory remarks.

The legal battle gained momentum after Ravi Mohan's recent public appearance with singer Kenisha Francis at a wedding. This event triggered a series of responses, with Aarti making indirect statements on social media that appeared to blame Kenisha for disrupting her marriage. In her statement, Aarti alluded to a "third person" being the cause of the marital discord, leading to a public exchange of accusations and heightened media attention.

Following Aarti's social media activity, Ravi Mohan approached the Madras High Court, seeking legal protection against what he considered to be defamatory statements. The court, after reviewing the case, ruled that neither Ravi Mohan nor Aarti should issue any further public statements regarding their personal disputes. The judge presiding over the case emphasized the importance of maintaining dignity and avoiding comments that could further tarnish each other's reputations, especially given the sensitivity of the ongoing legal proceedings.

In addition to the gag order, the Madras High Court has mandated the removal of any previously shared social media posts where either Ravi Mohan or Aarti had made remarks about each other. The court has also imposed a restriction on publishing any future content related to the couple on social media, advising them to address their grievances through the appropriate legal channels rather than airing them publicly. Both Ravi Mohan and Aarti had previously expressed a willingness to avoid further controversy and had agreed to take down past posts, a commitment that the court's order reinforces.

Aarti has reportedly filed a petition seeking ₹40 lakh per month in alimony from Ravi Mohan. The next hearing is scheduled for June 12, 2025, where Ravi Mohan is expected to submit his response to Aarti's plea.

The high-profile separation has also drawn attention to singer Kenishaa Francis, who has found herself at the center of controversy. Social media users have reportedly sent her hateful messages and even death threats after Aarti indirectly accused her of bringing "darkness" into her life.

The Madras High Court's intervention aims to prevent any further escalation of the public dispute and ensure that the divorce proceedings are handled with restraint and sensitivity. The court's decision has drawn public attention, as the high-profile separation continues to make headlines across media and social platforms. The next major hearing in the family court is expected to further clarify the terms of separation and maintenance.
