Dhanush's Tere Ishk Mein Debuts Victoriously, Pulling In A Mighty Rs 16.5 Crore Opening Day.

Dhanush and Kriti Sanon's latest film, "Tere Ishk Mein," has made a strong debut at the box office, earning ₹16.5 crore net in India on its opening day, Friday, November 28, 2025. The romantic drama, directed by Aanand L Rai, has garnered positive reviews from critics and audiences, signaling a promising start to its theatrical run.

"Tere Ishk Mein" has also secured the second spot for the highest opening day collection for a romantic drama of 2025, but did it beat Saiyaara. Saiyaara minted Rs 21.5 crore on the opening day. According to Sacnilk, the film recorded an overall 25.77% occupancy on its opening day. Night shows registered the highest occupancy at 41.56%.

The movie marks Dhanush's return to Hindi cinema after a four-year hiatus, his last appearance being in the 2021 film "Atrangi Re," which was also directed by Aanand L Rai. "Tere Ishk Mein" also marks Anand L Rai's first collaboration with Kriti Sanon.

The film's initial success has exceeded expectations and marks the highest opening of Dhanush's Bollywood career. "Tere Ishk Mein" earned three times more than his 2013 hit "Raanjhanaa," which opened at ₹5.03 crore. For Kriti Sanon, "Tere Ishk Mein" is her second-best opening ever after "Adipurush".

According to reports, the film has been made on a budget of ₹85 crore. To avoid a flop status, "Tere Ishk Mein" must cross ₹90 crore at the box office. A hit status will only come once it breaches ₹115 crore.

"Tere Ishk Mein" is facing competition from "Gustaakh Ishq," starring Vijay Varma and Fatima Sana Shaikh, which managed ₹50 lakh on Day 1.

The film explores themes of obsession and devotion, led by intense performances from Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. Dhanush plays Shankar, a student who indulges in violence, while Kriti Sanon plays Mukti, a psychology student.

Reviewers have praised Dhanush's performance, noting his ability to portray a warped character who is good at heart yet violent. Kriti Sanon has also been commended for her portrayal of Mukti.

Aanand L Rai extracts the juice of darkness to the limit. A.R. Rahman's music is not memorable.

"Tere Ishk Mein" attempts to portray a complex story of toxic love and obsession. Despite powerful performances, the film's narrative leaves audiences unsettled.

Overall, "Tere Ishk Mein" has made a strong start at the box office, with positive reviews and solid occupancy across major cities.
