De De Pyaar De 2: Ajay Devgn & Rakul's Rom-Com Sequel Surpasses Rs 70 Crore in 20 Days.

Mumbai, India – The romantic comedy "De De Pyaar De 2," starring Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, has crossed the ₹70 crore mark in India within 20 days of its release. The film, a sequel to the 2019 hit "De De Pyaar De," continues to draw audiences to theaters, although its performance is notably lower than the original, which netted ₹95 crore.

Directed by Anshul Sharma and produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films, "De De Pyaar De 2" hit theaters worldwide on November 14, 2025. The film also stars R. Madhavan in a key role. The movie had a strong opening day, collecting ₹8.75 crore in India. By its opening weekend, collections had reached ₹33.70 crore. After one week, the film had grossed ₹91.11 crore worldwide.

In its third week, "De De Pyaar De 2" is estimated to have earned ₹40 lakh on Wednesday, a slight decrease from the previous days. The film's total net collection in India is nearing ₹71 crore, and it is expected to conclude its theatrical run soon, particularly with the release of "Dhurandhar" this Friday.

Worldwide, the film has grossed ₹98.85 crore, with ₹77.56 crore from India and ₹21.29 crore from overseas markets. After 19 days, the worldwide gross collection stands at ₹126.48 crore. This makes "De De Pyaar De 2" Ajay Devgn's fifth highest-grossing film globally in the post-COVID era, surpassing "Bholaa" (₹122.2 crore) but remaining below "Shaitaan" (₹216.18 crore).

Despite the film's financial success, it has faced mixed reviews and challenges. Some critics noted the film lacked a strong marketing push. The romantic comedy genre has generally struggled in the post-pandemic environment.

As of December 1, 2025, "De De Pyaar De 2" had earned ₹86.80 crore net in India. With a production budget of ₹135 crore, the film has recovered approximately 64% of its budget. "De De Pyaar De 2" has become the second highest-grossing romantic film of 2025 in India, behind "Saiyaara".

Looking ahead, Ajay Devgn has several other projects in the pipeline, including "Drishyam 3," "Golmaal 5," and "Raid 2". He is also reportedly set to star in the Hindi remake of the Malayalam thriller "Thudarum".
