Mumbai, Dec 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) – Rajveer Deol, son of Sunny Deol and grandson of the legendary Dharmendra, recently shared a heartfelt sentiment about his connection with his "Bade Papa" (grandfather), the veteran actor Dharmendra. Despite Dharmendra's passing on November 24, 2025, Rajveer feels his presence remains a constant in his life, stating that he still hears his grandfather's voice in his head.
Rajveer, who made his Bollywood debut with the romantic drama "Dono" in 2023, has often spoken about the influence of his family, especially his grandfather, on his life and career. Dharmendra, who passed away at the age of 89, had an illustrious career spanning over six decades with over 300 films to his credit.
In previous interviews, Rajveer has fondly recalled his childhood memories with Dharmendra, mentioning how he would often visit his grandfather's room, sneaking in his Xbox to play video games. He also shared how Dharmendra would read and explain his poems to him, showcasing a personal and affectionate bond between the grandson and grandfather.
Dharmendra's support for Rajveer's career was evident when he visited the sets of "Dono," which Rajveer described as one of his most cherished memories. According to Rajveer, Dharmendra's presence on set, especially during a particularly challenging scene, gave him immense confidence.
The Deol family has a long and rich history in Bollywood. Dharmendra married Prakash Kaur in 1954 and later Hema Malini in 1980. He has six children: Sunny, Bobby, Esha, Ahana, Ajeeta and Vijeta. Many of whom, including Sunny and Bobby, have made significant contributions to the Indian film industry. Rajveer is carrying forward this legacy as the latest member of the family to pursue acting.
Rajveer's father, Sunny Deol, has also been a major influence in his life. In an interview, Rajveer mentioned that the best advice he received from his father and grandfather was to be himself and not try to emulate them. He also spoke about the challenges of belonging to a family that has historically been associated with a strong, masculine image.
Rajveer's debut film, "Dono," is produced by Rajshri Productions. Despite the film's initial performance at the box office, Rajveer remains proud of his work and the effort he put into the movie. He trained in acting, screen presence, theatre workshops and film direction basics. Rajveer is reportedly in discussions for upcoming projects, including a romantic-comedy for OTT platforms, an action-drama film, and a family entertainer under the Vijayta Films banner.
The Deol family continues to be a prominent force in Bollywood, with multiple generations contributing to the industry. Dharmendra's legacy lives on not only through his films but also through the values and lessons he imparted to his family, which Rajveer clearly cherishes. Rajveer's recent statement is a testament to the enduring impact of Dharmendra on his life, both personally and professionally.
