Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has expressed her excitement for the newly released comedy film, Rahu Ketu, starring Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma. The film, which hit theaters on January 16, 2026, is a comedy adventure directed and written by Vipul Vig.
Rahu Ketu reunites Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma, known for their roles in the Fukrey series. The film also stars Shalini Pandey, Piyush Mishra, Chunky Panday, Amit Sial, and Manu Rishi Chadda. The movie is produced by Umesh Kumar Bansal, Pragati Deshmukh, Suraj Singh, and Varsha Kukreja under the Zee Studios and BLive Productions banners.
The film’s teaser, released last November, offers a glimpse into the film's concept and characters. The teaser opens with Piyush Mishra, who appears to have a deep understanding of "dasha" and "disha". Following an encounter with Mishra's character, Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma are transformed into modern-day versions of Rahu and Ketu, setting off a chain of cosmic chaos and comedy.
Rahu Ketu follows Rahu and Ketu, two clueless characters born from writer Churu Lal's notebook, on a mission to retrieve the notebook from Meenu Taxi. Along the way, they discover truths about themselves, encounter a drug mafia, and take control of their destiny. The film blends humor, fantasy, and elements of Indian culture.
Pulkit Samrat shared his excitement about the film, stating that he had fun shooting the "hilariously twisted chaos" and was eager for audiences to see what they had created. Varun Sharma echoed this sentiment, noting that Rahu Ketu was unlike anything he had ever done. Director Vipul Vig, who also wrote the Fukrey films, said that working with Varun and Pulkit again in his directorial debut was both familiar and thrilling.
Shalini Pandey described Rahu Ketu as one of the most enjoyable experiences of her career, praising Vipul Vig's vision and the collaborative environment on set.
Rahu Ketu promises a blend of mythology and modern comedy, inviting audiences to experience a take on fate and destiny. The film is anticipated to be a family-friendly entertainer, blending cultural motifs with light-hearted entertainment.
