Anupam Mittal, a prominent judge on Shark Tank India and the founder of Shaadi.com, recently revealed an instance where he rejected a pitcher in the past, only to see them impress the Sharks on Season 5 of the show. The revelation led to Mittal humorously lamenting his decision, exclaiming "Maaro Mujhe" ("Beat me").

The entrepreneur in question was Anant Bhardwaj and Yash Goyal, the founders of Krvvy, a size-inclusive women's innerwear and shapewear brand that focuses on catering to Indian body types and price points. Both founders have engineering backgrounds, with Yash also bringing experience in investment banking and Anant specializing in content creation.

During their pitch on Shark Tank India 5, Krvvy sought ₹1.2 crores in exchange for 2% equity, valuing their company at ₹60 crores. The Sharks were impressed by the quality of Krvvy's products. Mittal then revealed that he had previously met with the founders and declined to invest when their revenue was significantly lower, around ₹2-3 lakhs. Upon learning that Krvvy had since generated a revenue of ₹1.4 crores in 2024-25 and ₹1.05 crores in September 2025 alone, Mittal jokingly said, "Mujhe rone do, kuch laake maaro, main ne aapko decline kar diya tha jab aapki 2-3 lakh revenue thi". Aman Gupta humorously added, "You are not a good investor". The founders further impressed the Sharks by declaring a 4.4 rating on Amazon.

This isn't the only time a pitcher on Shark Tank India has faced tough questions from the Sharks. In another episode of Shark Tank India 5, Dr. Manoj Das, the founder of Lewisia Wellness, an aromatherapy and naturopathy brand, faced intense backlash from the Sharks regarding his brand's business model, product claims, and credibility. Anupam Mittal also questioned Manoj's use of the title "doctor", asking whether an aromatherapist and naturopath was legally entitled to use it. Mittal accused Das of misleading Indian consumers, stating that the business growth appeared to be driven by provocative content rather than product credibility.

Another entrepreneur on the show, Varun, who came in seeking Rs 1 crore in exchange for 4 percent of his company, OutLive, faced similar scrutiny. OutLive sells a '5 day guided fasting program'. The Sharks questioned Varun's claims that his products aided in weight loss. Anupam Mittal questioned the value of the products, stating, “Tu Rs 7000 ka dabba leke aaya hai, isme Rs 500 ki cheezein nahi hain".

Shark Tank India 5 premiered on January 5, 2026, and is available for viewing on Sony Entertainment Television and SonyLIV. The panel of Sharks includes Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, Ritesh Agarwal, Kunal Bahl, Amit Jain, Mohit Yadav, Varun Alagh, Kanika Tekriwal, Viraj Bahl, Shaily Mehrotra, and Hardik Kothiya.
