Deepika Padukone has achieved another milestone by becoming the first Indian to serve on the jury of the Louis Vuitton LVMH Prize 2025. The luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton made the announcement on Instagram, recognizing Padukone's global influence.
The LVMH Prize is an annual competition that supports young fashion designers globally. The final round will take place on September 3 at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. The jury will select a winner from eight finalists: Alainpaul, All-In, Francesco Murano, Soshiotsuki, Steve O Smith, Tolu Coker, Torisheju, and Zomer.
Padukone's appointment to the jury is a historic moment for India. She has been a trailblazer in opening doors for global brands in India and is today the face of some of the biggest international names. In 2022, she became the first Indian to be signed by global luxury fashion houses such as Louis Vuitton and Cartier.
The LVMH Prize jury comprises twelve members. Alongside Padukone, the panel includes creative directors and CEOs from major fashion houses: Jonathan Anderson, Nicolas Ghesquiere (Louis Vuitton women), Marc Jacobs, Nigo (Kenzo), Phoebe Philo, Stella McCartney, Silvia Venturini Fendi, and Pharrell Williams (Louis Vuitton men). Delphine Arnault, CEO of Christian Dior Couture and founder of the prize, Jean-Paul Claverie, advisor to Bernard Arnault, and Sidney Toledano, CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group, also serve on the jury.
The LVMH Prize is considered one of fashion's most influential platforms for emerging talent. Past winners have become industry leaders. Last year, Natalie Portman served as a special jury member and presented the main prize to Swedish designer Ellen Hodakova Larsson.
Deepika Padukone's selection for the LVMH Prize jury highlights her significant global presence and influence. Beyond her successful acting career, she is recognized for her contributions to fashion and wellness. She has also been a vocal advocate for mental health and has pushed for better working conditions for new mothers.
