Aamir Khan's upcoming film, "Sitaare Zameen Par," a spiritual successor to his critically acclaimed 2007 film "Taare Zameen Par," is already generating significant buzz ahead of its release on June 20, 2025. The film, directed by R.S. Prasanna, stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh and introduces ten new talents to the Bollywood scene. A special screening was recently held, and the first review is out, courtesy of author and philanthropist Sudha Murty, who has lauded the film as an "eye-opener."

Murty, who attended the special screening, shared her heartfelt review, emphasizing the film's profound message. She described "Sitaare Zameen Par" as a "beautiful film" that offers deep philosophical lessons. Murty highlighted the film's ability to foster understanding and sensitivity towards individuals often considered "not normal." She noted that the movie beautifully portrays the pure hearts and sensitivity of these individuals, who approach life with a disarming simplicity and constant smiles.

"I feel the movie's an eye-opener. Many people don't understand such children whom we call 'not normal'. But this is a very beautiful movie where you understand that they are very sensitive and that they have a pure heart. They always smile, too, because they are so pure in their approach to life," Murty stated.

She further added that the film is inclusive and celebrates the unique perspectives and capabilities of the characters. Murty believes that "Sitaare Zameen Par" has the potential to bring about significant positive changes in society by encouraging the inclusion and rehabilitation of individuals with intellectual disabilities into the mainstream. "This movie can bring a lot of changes, actually. We should include them in our normal system and try to rehabilitate them in a normal way," she affirmed.

"Sitaare Zameen Par" is a remake of the Spanish film "Champions" (2018). The film revolves around a basketball coach, played by Aamir Khan, who, after an incident, is sentenced to community service, which involves coaching a basketball team comprised of players with intellectual disabilities. Initially reluctant, the coach undergoes a transformation as he connects with his team, learning valuable lessons about resilience, inclusion, and the human spirit.

Aamir Khan has described "Sitaare Zameen Par" as a humorous take on a sensitive subject, contrasting it with the emotional tone of "Taare Zameen Par." He noted that while "Taare Zameen Par" focused on a teacher helping a child with dyslexia, "Sitaare Zameen Par" takes the narrative further by showcasing how individuals with challenges can help a "normal" person.

The film's music is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The trailer and the released songs have already created a buzz, promising a heartwarming and inspiring story.

"Sitaare Zameen Par" introduces ten debutants: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The film is directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for "Shubh Mangal Saavdhan," and produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit.

With its release date fast approaching, "Sitaare Zameen Par" is poised to be a significant film that entertains and promotes a message of inclusivity and understanding. Sudha Murty's early review and the positive reactions from the special screening suggest that the film will resonate deeply with audiences and potentially spark meaningful conversations about how society perceives and interacts with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
